Guided Imagery
What is guided imagery?
On a radio interview with Dr. Winston Chung, KUSF 90.3 FM.
Images are the natural language of our intuition. Guided imagery is a gentle process of accessing clarity by exploring images that arise naturally from within. Blending intuition with our logical capacities is a powerful blend for living a life of greater ease and fulfillment, and it can help us meet our greatest challenges.
Our inner, subconscious experiences are as practical as they are mysterious. Research supports the benefits of guided imagery in a number of applications, including reducing side effects of medications or medical procedures, living with chronic illness, overcoming insomnia, and making positive life changes.
There are many advantages to working with an individual practitioner who can skillfully guide you to your own images through structure and compassionate presence. Respect for your process is foremost and you set the pace. Leslie offers sessions in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Skype, FaceTime, and phone appointments are available for those out of the area or unable to travel.
Because imagery is a completely natural process, you can also learn to tap directly into your heart’s wise guidance on your own. Healing and Transformation Through Self-Guided Imagery teaches you how and it includes a self-facilitation worksheet. Applicable to every situation, it offers detailed instructions you can use by yourself or with a partner to awaken your inner senses, discover your inner sanctuary, and receive your heart’s message for your particular issue.
Free MP3’s recordings of guided imagery sessions are available on the Audio page. For imagery training programs, see the Guided Imagery Training Programs page.
